remember the days when "alternative rock" actually meant something. when the foundation of indie rock was being laid and you actually bought a literal CD with a cover and artwork inside. well i do and i must say, i'm a bit excited that the infamous smashing pumpkins are re-uniting and coming out with another album. apart from bush, there wasn't a 90's rock band i liked more. the album is called "zeitgeist" which couldn't be more fitting. the "zeitgeist" is a german word for "the spirit of the times" something of which i have been studying on an academic level. it will be interesting to see where they go with that, or how the musical lull of the zeitgeist matches our material global one.
